TOWARD SMART WIND DESIGN FOR CANADIAN BUILDINGS AND CITIES
Dr. Ahmed Elshaer, P.Eng.
The presentation will illustrate the current critical challenges facing the design of structures to resist extreme wind events besides showing the state-of-the-art numerical and experimental approaches to tackle these challenges.
The presentation will demonstrate some of the recent research work conducted by Dr. Elshaer.
Dr. Elshaer is an assistant professor at the Civil Engineering Department at Lakehead University. He obtained his PhD from the University of Western Ontario while working in the Alan Davenport Boundary Layer Wind Tunnel and WindEEE ResearchIinstitute. He has over ten years of experience in teaching, research and consulting in structural and wind engineering.
